Nicole Mollett is lead artist for the Kent cultural Baton. The Baton concept is her work, for which she she won the commission in 2009 with the proposal entitled 'travelling pod'. She curates and supports the artist residencies as well as presenting her own responses to places in Kent. Nicole has presented her work in a number of ways as part of the Baton journey, e.g. presenting the alternative souvenir shop in canterbury, handing out 500 free prints in Margate to celebrate 500days to the paraolympic games, making a film of the Turner Contemporary by floating a CCTV camera on a buoy out to sea, and making a flying rocket shaped like a church steppel in Brookland.
Nicole is working towards the final publication for the Kent Cultural Baton which will reveal hidden cultural facts about Kent in a map format. For more info on her practise go to www.nicolemollett.co.uk.
