Charlotte Warne Thomas has created a sculpture which functions both as an art work and as a staircase. The work will therefore call into question the role of art in a utilitarian sense, and the role of aesthetics in the field of functionality, as outlined in Adolf Loos’s seminal text "Ornament and Crime".
